Washington is the "Clunker"

Nice going Congress! The now infamous “Cash for Clunkers” program heralded by Democrats and the White House as “hugely” successful didn’t turn out so well after all.

The “winners”: Toyota, Honda, and Ford (you know…the one who didn’t take bailout money.)

The “losers”: GM and Crysler (you know…the ones that did take bailout money.)

You can also argue that the dealers that had to fill out reams of paperwork in order to get the $4500 rebate from the Federal Gov’t are STILL waiting to be reimbursed. This, dispite the wording in the law that the Feds would reimburse the dealers within 10 days. Will anyone in Washington be prosecuted for breaking the law? (Don’t hold your breath.)

Again and again, the incompetence of a massive Federal government to run anything effectively and efficiently is ASTOUNDING! Not only was the program a massive failure in execution, but dealers and auto industry experts now predict that auto sales will show declines for the remainder of the year now that the incentives are gone. How ironic that GM and Crysler (you know…the gov’t owned companies) have announced that they will bring back workers to build more cars. Uh..earth to GM / Crysler…the party’s over…you’re showing up a little late. The pretty girls are all gone.

Once again, the government interference in the free market will backfire.

On the other hand, releasing the ingenuity and savvy of individuals and free market capitalism produces a much different outcome. Great article on the power of ingenuity and necessity.

Given government interference or free market…which do you trust with your healthcare?
